欧冠欧联的前7轮结束，在仅剩最后1轮的情况下，一共16个直通名额，仅有3支队伍拿到：欧冠的利物浦和巴萨、欧联的拉齐奥。

今年的欧战新赛制，欧冠欧联均是8轮。在末轮未战的情况下，欧冠8个直通名额剩下6个可供争夺，欧联则是7个。在末轮，绝大多数豪门仍需要为了直通名额奋战。若是最终不能直通，则需参加附加赛。届时附加赛众多的豪门劲旅捉对厮杀，晋级16强的变数更大。
